Founded 30 years ago, FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) is the UK’s leading media arts centre, based in Liverpool. Offering a unique programme of exhibitions, film, and participant-led art projects, it harnesses the power of creative technology to inspire and enrich lives.

Increasingly among many other arts organisations and charities, FACT’s challenge was how to improve, develop, and maintain its services within the constraints of static or reducing public funding. Working with us, FACT identified areas of its business where investment could –and would – help it grow its commercial income and to become more accessible to a wider audience.

As a “Social Investment Fund Intermediary”, and an Access Point for the Reach Fund, First Ark Social Investment provided key funding of £100,000, assisted FACT to strengthen and improve its business model, growing its commercial income thereby enabling it to rely less on grant-funding as a source of income.

The investment will enable the creation of two additional, permanent jobs at FACT for local people. It is also breaking new ground by providing learning opportunities to approximately 30 apprentices and 30 industry professionals per year from the community˛ rich in diversity˛ that FACT serves.

FACT is delighted to have partnered with the Livv Investment team. Although we approach it in very different ways, we have a common purpose to improve the lives of people in the Liverpool City Region and beyond. This investment is a great way of helping both organisations to achieve their aims and grow their impact.
